EXPERIENCE SUMMARY

Keith Liddell is experienced metallurgical engineer and resource company director. Working since 1981 exclusively in the minerals industry he has experience in management and ownership of a number of public and private businesses and joint ventures with a variety of participants.   Through Lifezone Ltd, Keith is primarily focused on developing and marketing the Kell Process, which he conceived and patented. Having been involved in technical and corporate roles, company management, capital raising and stakeholder relationships, Keith has a unique blend of attributes that allow concurrent appreciation of the various commercial and technical components that make up successful modern resource companies.  He has negotiated purchases and sales of assets, joint venture agreements, concentrate sales agreements for concentrates and metals.  He has been involved in IPO’s, RTO’s and capital raisings (debt and equity) for companies that aggregate in excess of $3 billon. Technical functions include engineering of plant and equipment, commissioning and operation, process development, project management, risk planning, financial planning, people management and environmental/social responsibility.  Keith has particular experience with platinum group metals (PGM) processing, base metals (Ni and Cu) processing, CIP/CIL and refractory gold plants, and industrial minerals such as fluorspar and zircon.  Keith has a number of international patents in his name in respect of ultra-fine milling and processing of PGM concentrates to negate the need for matte smelting (the Kell Process);  he is the author of over 20 technical and industry review papers.

After graduating from Birmingham University in 1981 with a degree in Minerals Engineering, Keith took up employment with Mintek, where he worked in the Ore Dressing Division as Group Leader - Precious Metals, having responsibility for PGMs and refractory gold.  Keith received 2 silver medals from Mintek for Improvement in Recoveries at Western Platinum Mine, and Development of the Platinum Concentrator at Crocodile River Mine. Whilst at Mintek Keith received an MSc (Engineering) by Dissertation from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1986.

Leaving Mintek in 1988 he pursued his patented fine milling technology with his company Metprotech Pty Ltd, designing and selling ultra-fine mills, and having a joint venture with Namakwa Sands Ltd where he designed, installed and managed a plant for ultra fine milling of zircon sand to produce ceramic glaze opacifier.  Metprotech continues to receive royalties from a major equipment supplier that is licensed to supply its mills.  Moving to Perth in 1994 as a consultant, he joined Aquarius Platinum in 1996, becoming Managing Director in 1998.  He conceived and designed the Kroondal Platinum mine, which embodied novel mining, processing and management methods.  In 2001 he set up Mineral Securities Ltd (Minsec) – a resource investment company.  As an investor and executive Chairman of Sally Malay Mining Ltd (now Panoramic Resources Ltd) he was involved in the funding and development the Savannah nickel mine in Western Australia and the acquisition of the Lanfranchi nickel mine.  In 2003 Minsec invested in Sedibelo Platinum Mines Ltd, and Keith became deputy Chairman and then Chairman in 2008; he is presently a non-executive director and Chairman of the Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality and Community Relations, and Technical committees of the board.  Keith has also been involved in exploration for gold, PGMs and nickel in China and Australia, development of an open pit, heap leach copper SX-EW mine in Australia, exploration and production of fluorite in South Africa and Australia. He is chair of Colomi Singapore Ltd and a director of Cornish Lithium Ltd.

Keith is a director of Lifezone Ltd and its licensee companies KellTech Ltd and Kelltechnology South Africa Pty Ltd.
